Oklahoma Bicycle Society Partners with the Salvation Army in the OBS STREAK to Promote Bicycle Safety

Event Set for September 12 in Mitch Park

The Oklahoma Bicycle Society Streak will be held Sunday, September 12 at 7:30 a.m. in Edmond’s Mitch Park.

A portion of the proceeds from the OBS Streak, will benefit Helmet$ for Kids. This event is a joint effort between the Oklahoma Bicycle Society and The Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary. Their goal is to raise money to purchase bicycle helmets for children who receive bicycles through the Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary Christmas project, Buck$ for Bikes.

There will be the 100k, 40 and 25 mile routes, and a 10 mile Free Family Fun Ride. Maps will be available at the event site.

All riders must wear a protective helmet. Traffic Control will be provided at key points. All routes will be open to motor vehicles. Riders are asked to obey all traffic laws.

Event packets may be picked up at Mitch Park on the day of the event between 6:00 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. Early pickup will be at Flatire Burgers (318 East Ayers St, Edmond) on Saturday, September 11 from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Free lunch will be provided by Flatire Burgers on Saturday, September 11. And Carinos Italian will provide a pasta lunch after the ride on Sunday, September 12.
