Oklahoma City area storms knock out power to 20,000, some homes evacuated

Thunderstorms passing through the Oklahoma City area knocked out power to more than 20,000 customers, and several homes in far northwest Oklahoma City were evacuated after power lines fell on them.

Oklahoma County emergency manager David Barnes said some roofs lost shingles, but no major damage or injuries were reported with Tuesday's storms.

Firefighters evacuated six homes near NW 164 and MacArthur Boulevard when power lines toppled on top of the houses about 6 p.m.
